Hey there, I’m Pratik Akkawar—welcome to The Simplified Life.

This blog was born out of a personal need: a deep craving for clarity, calm, and purpose in a world that constantly pulls us in every direction. Like many of you, I once found myself overwhelmed by endless to-do lists, digital noise, and the pressure to constantly keep up. My days were full, but my life felt empty.

Over time, I realized I wasn’t alone—and more importantly, I realized I could choose differently.

🌿 Why The Simplified Life?

I created The Simplified Life to document my journey of cutting through the clutter—both physical and mental—and finding meaning in the essentials. This isn’t about owning less for the sake of it or following a rigid rulebook. It’s about creating space for what truly matters: peace of mind, genuine connections, and the freedom to live with intention and clarity.

This blog is my way of sharing the mindset shifts, habits, and tools that helped me slow down, regain control, and feel more present in my own life.

We live in a time where more is often seen as the answer—more productivity, more stuff, more scrolling, more hustle.
But at some point, I started asking:

What if “more” isn’t the answer? What if we’ve just been too distracted to notice what really matters?

That single question became a turning point in my life.

I realized that simplicity isn’t about doing less for the sake of it—it’s about clearing space so the meaningful things can finally breathe.

🙋‍♂️ A Bit About Me

I’m a creator, a writer, and someone who got tired of living on autopilot.

For years, I ran on a loop—checking emails first thing in the morning, glued to my phone at night, always “busy” but rarely fulfilled. Like many, I thought burnout was just a part of modern life. Until I started simplifying.

I began with my digital life—decluttering apps, limiting screen time, organizing my workspace. Then I looked at my routines, my spending, even my thoughts. And with every small shift, I felt more in control and more at peace.

That was the start of this journey.

🧘‍♂️ How Minimalism & Stoicism Shaping My Life

While exploring ways of simplifying, I came to know about the Stoic philosophy and Minimalist mindset. I find both of them complimenting well to each other and would help me create a simple life. Minimalism teaches how to let go—of things, distractions, and even beliefs that no longer served me. Stoicism teaches how to hold on—to calm, control, and clarity, especially when life gets messy.

Together, these two philosophies helped me build a lifestyle rooted in:

  • Intentional choices instead of default routines
  • Calm focus instead of constant overwhelm
  • Gratitude and awareness instead of endless chasing
